Our Purpose
The purposes of this Council are to
- coordinate the efforts of local unions, intermediate bodies, and local Building and Construction Trades Councils that represent workers in the building and construction trades;
- establish better relations between labor organizations in the building trades and with other labor organizations;
- be the voice of building trades workers before the executive and legislative branches of state government;
- engage with contractors, employer associations, project owners, and public bodies on matters of common interest;
- and with the approval of the Executive Board to act on behalf of affiliate labor organizations and their membership in the legislative, regulatory, and judicial spheres on matters of wages hours and working conditions, health and safety, regulation of work, employment benefits including unemployment and workers compensation, and environmental conditions affecting work, home and community.
