We lobby on behalf of our members—working men and women—across the state, and at all levels of government. Our political values are  simple: to achieve and sustain the betterment and protection of our members. We work closely with elected officials to find solutions to complex labor issues, and to ensure that those who benefit from Washington's growth include those who build it.
The Council is committed to lobbying on behalf of over 80,000 union building trades members in Washington, but we can't do it alone. Support from union members and the public is critical to making sure important labor issues reach policy decision-makers at every level of government.         Join us in taking action...

The Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council is charged with acting on behalf of affiliate labor organizations and their membership in the legislative, regulatory, and judicial spheres on matters of
  • wages, hours and working conditions,
  • health and safety,
  • regulation of work,
  • employment benefits including unemployment and workers compensation, and
  • environmental conditions affecting work, home and community.​​
