Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council

We at the Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council join NABTU President McGarvey in supporting the work that has been done to improve the shortcomings of the original negotiated NAFTA replacement. This newly negotiated version, though still not perfect, represents advancement for workers rights within the framework of multinational trade agreements. Though Speaker Pelosi was under considerable pressure throughout the process, I believe that she stood firm to negotiate much needed improvements in order to prioritize the rights of workers in the United States, for that both President Trump and Speaker Pelosi deserve our appreciation.
We ask our members to encourage Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to allow the Senate to approve this version. ~ MarkToday, NABTU issued the following statement from President Sean McGarvey on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):
