Painters Local #1964

image001

Since their charter in May of 1900, Painters Local #1964 have made tremendous efforts to give back to the community. Recently, several members, many of them veterans, banded together to restripe the parking lot at the center for Veterans of Foreign Wars center. Additionally, they repaired a derelict flagpole, Memorial Howitzer, handrail and signage. The following vendors donated (or discounted) their services to help with this project:

  • Rodda Paint – Tacoma (donation)
  • Flags-R-Flying – Tacoma (discount)
  • V.F.W. Post #91 – Tacoma (food – meals provided)

If you have any questions or are interested in the history of volunteerism not only by the painters of local 1964 but of the international Union of painters and Allied trades here and District Council 5 Washington State please contact Chris Winters (253-307-5594).
